The day draws to a close,
And Father Sun dips below the horizon;
Pulling a midnight blue blanket behind him.

Just before the stars on the blanket of the night begin to shine,
The robin sings during the last light of the day.

He sings his thanks to the One
That watches over and provides
For us all.

As the sky blanket begins
To show the patterns of
Star flowing across its surface
The Robin sings of the day.

He sings his joy as the last light fades.
Slowly, more slowly until at last
As the sunlight is replaced with the
Light of Grandmother Moon,
Robins' song fades into the soft night,
To be replaced with the gentle sounds
Of those whose day is night.

Before the morning light
Robin will once again give voice
To the stillness that comes
Before the dawn.

Singing up Father Sun,
Watching as the stars fade from sight.

A song of Joy,
Of Hope and Thanks
For the mystery and blessings of a new day.
