It seems that what would ordinarily be trivial annoyances snowball and become massive obstacles. The opposite is true as well. A smile or a kind word can snowball too. It just takes a bit more effort. Whether we realize it or not each individual can determine how their day will progress. When we start out the day in a frantic rush, dropping things in our haste we set the stage for the day. Every minor irritation builds upon the next and by the time we start our workday we are grumbling and out of sorts with everyone and everything. The people around us seem to 'catch' this out-of-sorts day and before long they are reflecting back to us the same grumbling and ill temper. Now we usually blame it on being a Monday. But "Monday" can happen any day of the week and last for days. It is all up to each individual. We can choose, at any given moment, how we want to feel. The choice is ours to either dwell on unhappiness or frustration or to focus on the positive aspects of any situation. The choice we make reflects out to those around us and effects their perceptions too. In essence, we are all mirrors of one another, reflecting the moods of our family, coworkers, community and even our nation and world. It can be a subtle reflection, much like a shadow in the evening sun; or it can be obvious like a thunderstorm overhead. The only difference is our choice of focus. So, is your mirror sparkling and shiny? Or is it in need of polishing? *** Resource Box: Rev.
